In Axie Infinity, players build virtual kingdoms for their virtual pets.</p><p>&nbsp;Axie Infinity and the SLP token were co-founded by current CEO Trung Nguyen in 2018. A lot of blockchain technology has focused on financial services. In response, Axie Infinity was created as a fun and educational gaming platform to encourage the adoption of blockchain and NFT technology beyond purely financial services.</p><p>Whilst the Axie Infinity ecosystem consists of other tokens (for example the governance token AXS), SLP is the main token used to earn income. There is an uncapped maximum supply of SLP tokens. Originally named Small Love Potion, it has rebranded to Smooth Love Potion.</p><h3>What are SLP’s key features and how does it work?</h3><p>Axie Infinity does not sell the SLP gaming token directly to players. Instead, SLP can be earned through various modes of gameplay. The main source of SLP rewards is Arena Battles where players compete against other players (PvP) to win SLP. SLP can also be earned through completing daily check-ins and quests. However, before earning SLP this way, a player needs to obtain their Axies, which can be done via the marketplace.</p><p>All assets and data within the game can be accessed by third parties, which allows developers to build tools and experiences to further enhance the Axie Infinity metaverse.</p><p>Axie Infinity is a Play-to-Earn game, as such by playing the game and earning SLP, players are offered a simple and interactive way to earn side income and interact with DeFi in a fun way. It has become very popular in developing countries, particularly those with unstable fiat currencies, like the Philipines.</p><h3>What can Smooth Love Potion be used for?</h3><p>SLP can be used in the Axie Infinity Universe to breed new digital pets or Axies. To avoid hyperinflation, Axies can be bred up to 7 times with each time requiring an increased amount of SLP. The price of breeding an Axie also depends on the specific breed a player wants to breed, depending on the breed count of a player’s pre-existing Axies (the parent Axies). If a parent has a high breed count, more SLP is needed to breed. After an Axie is bred, the SLP tokens used are burnt. All Axies are designed as NFTs meaning they are unique and original digital objects. Pets (Axies) can then be sold on the Axie Infinity marketplace as NFTs to other players.</p><p>SLP can also be bought, sold, and traded on crypto exchanges. Earning SLP via the game can take a considerable amount of time, meaning breeding Axies also takes time. We evaluate current trading volumes and market momentum against 30/90 day averages, then combine these indicators. Typically, high daily buying volumes in a positive market lead us to conclude that the market is excessively greedy or overly bullish.

We collect and tally posts with various hashtags for each coin from Twitter (X) and monitor the speed and volume of interactions within certain time frames. A surge in interaction rates signifies heightened public interest in the coin, which we view as indicative of a greedy market.

A coin’s dominance represents its share of the total crypto market capitalization. For Bitcoin, an increase in dominance often stems from a flight to safety, reducing speculative investments in alt-coins as Bitcoin becomes the preferred safe haven in the crypto space.
