Crypto prices bullish on Jan 16: BTC breaches $100k, XRP hits record high

The cryptocurrency market was strongly bullish today, with Bitcoin (BTC) reclaiming the $100,000 mark and XRP reaching a record high of $3.18.

The global crypto market cap surged to $3.5 trillion, up 3.7% in the last 24 hours.

The total crypto market trading volume over the past 24 hours has surged to $155.24 billion, representing a 21.68% increase.

Bitcoin (BTC) price today

Bitcoin (BTC) rose 2.41%, trading at $99,376.07 with a 24-hour high of $100,781 and a low of $$96,505.

Trading volume for the coin was up 3% at $57.17 billion.

Bitcoin’s dominance is currently 56.47%, a decrease of 0.45% over the day.

BTC’s market cap neared $2 trillion, currently standing at $1.97 trillion.

Institutional investors showed strong interest, with Bitcoin ETFs recording $723 million in inflows. Fidelity led the pack with $463 million, followed by Ark and 21Shares with $138 million combined.

Ethereum (ETH) price today

Ethereum (ETH) climbed over 4% to $3,370.91, with a 24-hour range of $3,186 to $3,473.10.

Trading volume was up over 13% at $26 billion.

ETH ETFs saw $40 million in inflows, with Fidelity contributing $29 million.

XRP hits record high

XRP surged 8% to trade at around $3.07.

The third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation surged to an all-time high of $3.18 on Thursday, driven by optimism that the SEC may struggle to overturn rulings in the SEC vs. Ripple case.

Its market cap reached $173 billion. Trading volumes for the coin have surged over 80% in the last 24 hours to $22.44 billion.

Solana (SOL) price today

Solana (SOL) also recorded a 7% increase, trading at $202 with a 24-hour low of $186 and a high of $205.

Trading volumes for the coin shot up over 60% to $4 billion.

Top crypto gainers and losers

Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) was the top gainer at the time of writing, soaring by 32%, reaching $3.81.

Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) rose 23% and is now trading at $1.23.

Litecoin (LTC) gained 17.2% to trade at $119.

On the other hand, Movement (MOVE) was the only cryptocurrency among the top 100 to decline, falling 2.52% to $0.80.

USDC (USDC) has edged down 0.03% in the past 24 hours, currently trading at $0.9997.

TRON (TRX) has surged 5.94% in the past day, currently trading at $0.2363.

Uniswap (UNI) has seen a notable 8.45% increase in the last 24 hours, currently trading at $14.33.

VeChain (VET) is currently trading at $0.04808, having edged up 6.34% in the last day.

Worldcoin (WLD) is trading at $2.18, showing an 8.10% increase over the past 24 hours.

Zcash (ZEC) is currently priced at $54.52, with a 5.96% gain in the last 24 hours.

Trust Wallet Token (TWT) has edged up 0.02% in the past day, currently trading at $1.24.
