It is built using a collateralized debt obligation (CDP) model, where users deposit tokenized metals (ERC-20) as collateral to issue a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar.

pmUSD operates as part of the broader RAAC ecosystem, which also includes tokenized real estate lending (RAACLend), and is designed to provide liquidity and yield in DeFi, backed by low-volatility real-world assets.
