Gnosis Chain is a community-owned, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-based sidechain. Governance on Gnosis Chain is managed through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) mechanism, allowing anyone to participate in decision-making processes. Developing decentralized applications (dApps) and integrating with Gnosis Chain products follows a similar process to other EVM-based blockchains. Transaction fees on Gnosis Chain are paid in the xDai stablecoin, which helps reduce volatility risks and simplifies the development experience. Unlike other EVM chains where fees are paid in native tokens, Gnosis Chain's use of a stablecoin for fees is a unique feature. Currently, transaction fees are received solely by the validator who seals the block, but this distribution method might change as the network evolves.
