How Many Bitcoins Does Warren Buffett Own? Tron’s Justin Sun Answers

The founder of Tron Blockchain, Justin Sun, has tweeted an interesting insight. Sun took to X to share how he believes trading mogul Warren Buffett owns Bitcoin. Buffett has long been known to express staunch anti-Bitcoin sentiments. However, Sun’s latest tweet has sparked interest in whether one of the wealthiest men on earth truly owns Bitcoin.

Does Buffett own Bitcoin?

Justin Sun, who owns Huobi and Poloniex exchanges, took to X to share how he thinks Warren Buffett holds Bitcoin in his trading portfolio. 

Tron’s recent claims are based on a chance meeting that the Tron Supreme had with Buffett in 2020. 

Shedding more details about the event, Sun won a chance to meet with Buffett after donating a whopping $4.56 billion to the trading mogul’s wife’s charity dinner. He later sought permission to bring several friends over to this event, which was later granted. 

Reportedly, Sun attended the event with trailblazing crypto leaders, including Litecoin founder Charlie Lee, founder of eToro Yoni Assia, top executive of Binance Helen Haiyu, and several others.

During the initial phase of the conversation, Sun discussed various corporate aspects with Buffett, including the nuances of cryptocurrencies. However, he was unable to persuade Buffett to explore crypto as a possible investment option. 

In the end, Sun gifted a Samsung Galaxy crypto smartphone to Buffett, which held slightly more than one bitcoin and 1,930,830 TRX.

Now Sun has rehashed the conversation again, stating that Buffett might still be holding that bitcoin. However, recent reports suggest that the wallets comprising Buffett Bitcoin have largely remained untouched.

Buffett’s Staunch Bitcoin Stance

Popularly known as the Oracle of Omaha, trading mogul Warren Buffett is known for his strict anti-Bitcoin stance. 

He had earlier dubbed Bitcoin “rat poison squared,” claiming that it has no value. 

“Whether it goes up or down in the next year or five or 10 years, I don’t know. But the one thing I’m pretty sure of is that it doesn’t produce anything. It’s got a magic to it, and people have attached magic to lots of things.” Buffett later shared.
