About Backpack Futures
Backpack Futures is a perpetual futures trading service launched in 2023 by the centralized crypto exchange Backpack. In Europe, the service is operated through the regulated subsidiary Backpack EU (formerly FTX EU), which holds a CySEC license and complies with the MiFID II framework. Trading is conducted in USDC with leverage up to 10x (in the EU), and over 40 trading pairs are available. The perpetual contracts have no expiry date, use an hourly funding rate mechanism, and feature a cross-margin system within a unified account that combines spot, futures, and margin trading. The platform also supports grid trading and provides daily proof-of-reserves verification.
