VeriBlock uses the Proof-of-Proof consensus protocol.  PoP model gamifies the publication of data onto the blockchain, allowing all users to participate in the validation process.

VeriBlock was developed to address two key problems: altchain security and Bitcoin scalability, in hope of promoting their widespread adoption. VeriBlock utilizes a native coin (VBK), which serves to provide a means for paying the decentralized VeriBlock PoW and PoP miners. PoW miners are responsible for creating the blocks, providing the blockchain with intermediate consensus and PoP miners are responsible for publishing a representation of the current state of the VeriBlock blockchain (and by proxy, all blockchains secured by VeriBlock) to Bitcoin in a DTTP manner.
