What is TradeStation Crypto?

TradeStation Crypto was the digital asset-focused brokerage division of TradeStation Group, Inc., providing cryptocurrency trading services for retail and institutional investors. Founded to integrate digital assets into traditional online brokerage infrastructure, the platform allowed users to trade major cryptocurrencies, utilize automated strategies, and access liquidity through unified API connections.

In April 2024, TradeStation Crypto was acquired by Payward, Inc., the parent company of the global cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. This strategic acquisition enabled Payward to acquire TradeStation Crypto's regulatory assets, including Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) across multiple U.S. states, thereby accelerating Kraken's expansion and compliance footprint in the United States.
