Timpi is a decentralized search engine and data indexing network that operates using a DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) model. Instead of relying on centralized servers and proprietary algorithms, Timpi distributes web crawling and indexing tasks to a network of independent contributors called Guardians, Builders, and Indexers. These roles manage data collection, storage, and indexing across a global network. Timpi’s architecture enables users to query a search index that is not manipulated or filtered by centralized entities, with all operations recorded on-chain for transparency. It leverages blockchain technology to coordinate contributor roles, enforce protocol rules, and maintain the integrity of the data indexed.

Participants are incentivized with the $NTMPI token, which serves as the utility token for node rewards and payment for services. Timpi avoids centralized advertising models by introducing a marketplace layer where data and metadata can be exchanged directly between users and publishers. Its infrastructure includes a public-facing search engine, a decentralized API layer, and a backend powered by distributed hardware contributions, aiming to ensure censorship resistance and ownership of search data.
