What is Tempo?

Tempo is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed for payment processing. It does not replace general-purpose blockchains but introduces features intended for high-volume payment scenarios. These include predictable low transaction fees within a dedicated payments lane, support for multiple stablecoins, an integrated stablecoin exchange, high throughput, low latency, private transactions, payment memos aligned with standards such as ISO 20022, and compliance-related mechanisms.
