Synth is Bittensor Subnet 50 (SN50), built by Mode Network to create high-fidelity synthetic price path data that captures full probability distributions for cryptocurrency assets (starting with BTC), overcoming limitations in real historical data like biases, gaps, and rare extreme events.

Miners generate ensembles of simulated future price paths using advanced models to mimic realistic market dynamics such as volatility clustering. Validators score these forecasts post-horizon using the Continuous Ranked Probability Score (CRPS) against actual prices from oracles like Pyth, applying time-weighted averages and steep reward curves to allocate TAO emissions heavily to top performers while filtering noise.

The system produces verifiable, evolving synthetic datasets shared openly via APIs and dashboards for training AI agents, LLMs, or tools in DeFi — enabling better reasoning on predictions, risk management, options trading, and portfolio optimization.
