What is SwissBorg (BORG)?

SwissBorg is personal finance management app.

The app’s products range from on/off ramp, CEX & DEX aggregator (MEX), staking and other passive income opportunities (Earn), cryptocurrency bundles (Thematics), and a launchpad & one-time opportunities (Alpha Early Deals) and more. SwissBorg users are also entitled to airdrops if they happen as it’s one the few centralised entities redistributing them directly to their users.

BORG is essential to the SwissBorg experience as it unlocks bonus utilities in the app. The more BORG users hold in the app, the more benefits they can unlock either through Premium Tiers or ad-hoc promotions. Benefits include lower exchange fees, higher allocation in launchpads, higher yield on Earn strategies and increased voting power in referendums proposed by SwissBorg. 

Initially, 1 billion coins were released and its supply is being chipped away by SwissBorg buying back the token and burning it. It is not possible to issue any new tokens. 

The project was launched in Switzerland in 2017 and the ICO lasted from Dec 7th, 2017 to January 10th, 2018 where $50 million was raised to kickstart the project. In Q1 2023 SwissBorg performed a Series A, where 16,660 big and small individual investors raised a total of over 21 million Swiss Francs (CHF). 

The Co-Founders of SwissBorg are Cyrus Fazel and Anthony Lesoismier-Geniaux. Cyrus Fazel, who graduated from the EDHEC Business School in 2007, began his career as a portfolio advisor at Julius Baer and later became a hedge fund advisor for Aramis Capital. In 2016, his interest in personal finance took a new form, and he helped found SwissBorg.

Anthony is the other co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at SwissBorg. He graduated in finance from Polytech Nice Sophia in 2008 and immediately started working in the field. He started out as a fund manager assistant and worked his way to becoming the head of digital advisory at JFD Wealth. In 2016 he partnered up with Cyrus.

SwissBorg is licensed and regulated for operation in the following countries. A short KYC proof of identity is required before being able to deposit 16 different fiat and many more crypto assets. 

• Exchange at the Best Rates

You can exchange between any two assets that are supported in the app and the Smart Engine will find the best price possible across a collection of multiple centralised exchanges (CEX) and Decentralised Exchanges (DEX). 

• Buy Themed Bundles

Thematics allow you to easily disperse your eggs across multiple baskets, by capturing the trend of an entire sector. It is a bundle of cryptocurrencies, hand picked by the SwissBorg Investment team, that represents an entire sector, such as GameFi, AIFi, etc. 

• Stake Your Crypto Assets

Staking is possible on some assets found in the app. The rewards for Earn strategies depend on your Premium Tier level. Besides staking users can also find DeFi and flexible passive income opportunities.
