Shiba Inu (SHIB) was launched in August 2020 by an anonymous creator known as "Ryoshi." Buterin decided to burn a large portion of these tokens and donated the remainder to a COVID-19 relief fund in India, actions that dramatically reduced the circulating supply and sparked a significant price rally.As the project evolved, it expanded into a broader ecosystem, introducing additional tokens like LEASH and BONE, and launching the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange, which allowed users to trade, stake, and earn rewards within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Despite its origins as a meme coin, SHIB has grown into a more serious project with real-world applications and a dedicated following, establishing itself as a notable player in the cryptocurrency space.
