What is Rho Markets?

RhoMarkets is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform built on the Scroll ecosystem, primarily offering lending services based on an overcollateralized model. It serves as the native liquidity layer for Scroll, facilitating lending and borrowing of assets like ETH and wBTC. The platform integrates security-focused technologies, including zkSNARK proofs, to ensure privacy and scalability. RhoMarkets also supports on-chain governance, allowing community-driven decisions.

The platform ensures that loans are over-collateralized, meaning borrowers must provide collateral worth more than the amount they borrow, which reduces the risk of default and protects lenders. RhoMarkets also features a "collateral switch" that allows deposited assets to be used as collateral automatically, giving borrowers access to funds based on the value of their assets.
