Specifically, it uses the random delegated Proof-of-Stake (rdPoS), a variation of the Proof-of-Stake algorithm in which stakers can verify transactions to secure the network.&nbsp;</p><p>The role of validating transactions is delegated to predetermined nodes, which are known as witnesses. 21 witnesses serve the network at any given time, they are randomly selected from a pool of 63 pre-elected nodes. The network’s DAO foundation oversees the voting process.
