What is PrimeLayer (PRML)?
PrimeLayer is a developing Layer 2 protocol for Bitcoin that combines mainnet security, Ethereum compatibility, and the scalability of zk-rollups. The project is building infrastructure for BTC-DeFi, ensuring fast and secure transaction processing, EVM compatibility, and the ability to earn through a built-in DEX platform.
It uses zk-proofs and a merge-mined tag mechanism to finalize Bitcoin transactions, and its modular architecture allows it to be adapted to various infrastructures, including Syscoin, Celestia, and Eigen. Its economic model incentivizes validators through the issuance of the native PRML token and liquidity fees on the platform's own DEX.
PrimeLayer is currently developing and preparing to launch a testnet and its own BTC-DeFi ecosystem.
