PlatON uses a PPoS consensus mechanism. Users can lock a given amount of LAT on the network and be eligible to join as a node. Transaction fees from the network using LAT are used as rewards for nodes that process and verify the transactions. Furthermore, LAT acts as a payment method on the network.
