PlatON uses a PPoS consensus mechanism. Users can lock a given amount of LAT on the network and be eligible to join as a node. LAT holders can also delegate their LAT to specific nodes in order to in-directly take part in the process. Transaction fees from the network using LAT are used as rewards for nodes that process and verify the transactions. Furthermore, LAT acts as a payment method on the network. LAT is used for trades involving market data and computing power on the PlatON market. Those who provide data usage, computing power, as well as algorithms, earn LAT in return for their services.
