<p>The PlatON Network was created to operate as a next-generation Internet infrastructure protocol. Its core feature is “computing interoperability”, and combines it with blockchain technology in order to provide a public open-source infrastructure that delivers computing needs to those who need it. It focuses on providing solutions for industries with demands on data sharing and collaboration computing.</p><p>With the release of PlatON 2.0, the project has focused its efforts, particularly on artificial intelligence and its applications in a blockchain environment. The PlatON Network combines blockchain and privacy-preserving computation technologies in order to reach its overarching goal of encouraging the democratization of AI for safe artificial general intelligence. It hopes to improve the accessibility of AI through its decentralized network, as well as AI technology itself.</p><h3>What are PlatON Network’s key features and how does it work?</h3><p>The PlatON Network uses a unique Three-Tier AI network model. The first layer is the consensus network. It is its own blockchain that is made up of several nodes that are all interconnected via a P2P protocol. Smart contracts are used to power this layer, but this means that computational logic cannot be supported due to various limitations. Also, since each participant on the consensus layer has a full record of the transactions taking place, this layer alone cannot protect privacy. As such, the next layer is the privacy-preserving computation network. Data nodes and computing nodes that are connected together on the network are deployed in order to publish data and arithmetic power.</p><p>PlatON’s Privacy AI solution is powered by the platform’s privacy-preserving computation technologies. They are able to train and infer AI models in order to maximize data value whilst also ensuring that the data remains private as data remain disclosed.</p><p>Worth noting is the platform’s staking and delegation mechanism. PlatON uses a PPoS consensus mechanism. Users can lock a given amount of LAT on the network and be eligible to join as a node. LAT holders can also delegate their LAT to specific nodes in order to in-directly take part in the process. Stakers and delegators earn rewards.</p><h3>What can LAT be used for?</h3><p>LAT is PlatON’s native token. It powers the network as well as secures it. Transaction fees from the network using LAT are used as rewards for nodes that process and verify the transactions. Furthermore, LAT acts as a payment method on the network. LAT is used for trades involving market data and computing power on the PlatON market. Those who provide data usage, computing power, as well as algorithms, earn LAT in return for their services.
