What is pieUSD?

pieUSD is a wrapped stablecoin pegged 1:1 to USDT developed by Pieverse as part of their Web3 payment and infrastructure on BNB. It serves as the core payment asset in the Pieverse ecosystem, optimized for programmability, agent-friendliness, and support of the EIP-3009 standard (permit-style approvals for gasless transfers). This enables seamless integration with the x402/x402b payment protocol (an extension of HTTP 402 for on-chain payments), allowing gasless stablecoin transactions, instant settlements, and verifiable receipts/invoices without requiring users or AI agents to hold native gas tokens like BNB.

pieUSD addresses BNB Chain's lack of native ERC-3009 support in major stablecoins, facilitating features like machine-to-machine commerce, autonomous AI agent payments, micropayments, and compliance-ready documentation (e.g., on-chain invoices, receipts, and timestamps for audits/taxes).
