Ore ($ORE) is a Solana-native proof-of-work-inspired cryptocurrency protocol reintroduced in October 2025 as a decentralized store of value, featuring a redesigned mining system that captures protocol revenue, enables deflationary tokenomics, and rewards long-term holders through automated buybacks, staking yields, and redistributive mechanics to address the limitations of traditional PoW like value leakage and short-term speculation. Built on a 5x5 grid of claimable blocks where miners deploy SOL every minute to stake positions, a randomly selected winning block (via Solana's VRF) redistributes all losing SOL proportionally to claimants while awarding 1 ORE emission per round—either to a weighted solo miner or split among the group every third round on average—plus a "motherlode" jackpot accumulating 0.2 ORE per round with a 1/625 hit chance for bonus splits. A 10% "refining" fee on claimed rewards redistributes unclaimed ORE to patient miners. Accessible via mobile wallets like Phantom for low-barrier participation on laptops or phones without specialized hardware.
