<p>New BitShares (NBS) operates as a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) blockchain. It is a fork of BitShares (BTS). It was created with the aim of reversing some of the features implemented on the original BitShares network but that were not approved by the BitShares committee. It has the overall aim to power a range of DeFi and DEX products.</p><p>The NBS token can be used for paying transaction fees on the network, taking part in platform governance, as well as staking within the New BitShare Network. NBS has a total supply of 3,600,000,000.</p><h3>What are New BitShares’ key features and how does it work?</h3><p>The primary aim of the creation of New BitShares is to remove the fear of centralization that BitShares was facing.
