<p>New BitShares (NBS) operates as a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) blockchain. It is a fork of BitShares (BTS). It was created with the aim of reversing some of the features implemented on the original BitShares network but that were not approved by the BitShares committee. It has the overall aim to power a range of DeFi and DEX products.</p><p>The NBS token can be used for paying transaction fees on the network, taking part in platform governance, as well as staking within the New BitShare Network. NBS has a total supply of 3,600,000,000.</p><h3>What are New BitShares’ key features and how does it work?</h3><p>The primary aim of the creation of New BitShares is to remove the fear of centralization that BitShares was facing. As such, the platform reversed the following features from the BitShares network:</p><ul><li>Gradual weakening weight of votes;</li><li>One vote for one vote committee elections;&nbsp;</li><li>Locked voting;</li><li>Removal of voting rights if BTS is used as collateral.</li></ul><p>Users can also use the NBS to issue their own tokens and assets. Digital assets can be fully customized to suit a variety of use cases. Tokens can also be traded and exchanged via the NBS exchange.</p><p>Other key features include:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>NBS SDK. Software Development Kit to allow developer teams to test and deploy applications.</li><li>NBS Wallet. Wallet to store assets.</li><li>NBS Explorer.
