What is Miden?

Miden is a zero-knowledge (ZK) rollup layer 2 blockchain designed to enhance blockchain scalability, privacy, and security by shifting transaction execution and state management to the client side. This approach allows users to generate and verify their own transactions locally, reducing the need for re-execution on the main chain. By enabling client-side proving, Miden aims to alleviate the computational burden on the network, facilitating more efficient and scalable decentralized applications.​

In terms of privacy, Miden's architecture empowers users with full control over their data and transaction details through self-custodied state management. Security is bolstered by supporting smart contract development in Rust and incorporating built-in account abstraction. Additionally, native asset storage for user accounts minimizes the attack surface, enhancing overall system robustness.
