Habitat Protocol converts surplus renewable energy (e.g. from solar farms) into tokenized compute power. It uses a system with $HABITAT tokens that enable access to “Green Credits,” which can be used to mint Energy Vouchers backed not by raw electricity but usable compute resources. Energy Vouchers can be redeemed for services such as AI inference, file storage, and mining capacity. There is an on-chain marketplace where these vouchers are tradable. The protocol is designed to route workloads to regions with surplus renewable energy, so that compute is dynamically allocated where clean energy is under-utilized.
