What is Gelios?

Gelios is an innovative blockchain project that represents the first community-owned decentralized application (dApp) layer built atop the Bitcoin network. It acts as a bridge across three major blockchain networks: Arbitrum, Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin, facilitating seamless processing and transfer of information, data, and assets between them. This interconnectivity aims to foster a rich dApp ecosystem on the Bitcoin network, leveraging the security and widespread adoption of Bitcoin while enabling the advanced functionalities offered by Ethereum and Arbitrum.

Central to Gelios is its utilization of cutting-edge technologies such as the Runes protocol, Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK), and Celestia Data Availability (DA) to ensure optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The platform is developed using the Polygon CDK, which is an open-source, modular toolkit for creating new Layer 2 (L2) chains on Ethereum, enhancing Gelios's capabilities for dynamic and interoperable dApp layer integration.
