What is DEI

DEI is an algorithmic cross-chain fractional-reserve stablecoin that is open-source and permissionless. DEI's collateral ratio is free-flowing, consisting of roughly 20% DEUS tokens and 80% of another trusted stablecoin (depending on the target chain it’s on). This collateral ratio is dynamic, constantly adjusting, and is being monitored by arbitrage bots. DEI is the backbone of the DEUS ecosystem, it represents 100% of the collateral for synthetic and derivative assets. Additionally, powered by Muon, DEI has one unified bridge to all EVM chains, making it incredibly simple to move liquidity between blockchains.

What makes DEI unique?

  • Muon Oracles – DEI leverages Muon’s Subsequential Consensus and its Pythia module for live price feeds. As opposed to Uniswap’s TWAP or Chainlink’s oracles, Muon has on-demand price feeds with HTTP latency as its only lag. Price fluctuations are absorbed instantaneously. To learn more about Muon oracles, visit their gitbook here.
  • Trustless Bridges – There is no use in having cross-chain bridges if there is no liquidity on the other end of the bridge. With DEI, this has been solved by wrapping underlying stablecoins in a fractionalized way together with incentivized IL-free stablefarms on all blockchains. For every dollar that enters on chain A, the same dollar value can be redeemed on chain B (for another stablecoin). As opposed to creating deep liquidity for DEI on DEX’s, DEI’s free-flowing composition allows users to always redeem DEI for 1$ by tapping into currently existing stablecoin liquidity of external protocols.
  • Two Tokens – DEI is the stablecoin targeting a tight band around $1/coin. DEUS ($DEUS) is the DEI governance token that accrues fees, seigniorage revenue, and excess collateral value. Additionally, the $DEUS token serves huge utility outside of the DEI ecosystem as well.

DEI borrowing enables users to stake their LP tokens, earn APY, and borrow additional DEI against their positions.
