When users deposit ETH or WETH, they receive apeETH, which automatically generates yield without requiring manual interaction. ApeETH balances update regularly through automatic rebasing, increasing users' holdings over time. This mechanism makes it efficient to utilize idle assets on Layer 2 or Layer 3.
