Polygon (MATIC) has seen its zkEVM network suffer a 12-hour outage earlier today. Moreover, the network released a statement to X (Formerly Twitter) where they gave context to the situation. In that post, they noted that its “zkEVM Mainnnet Beta faced an issue with its sequencer due to an L1 reorg.”

Moreover, they said that they were working on the resolution of the issue, and would “follow up with a detailed post-mortem.” Additionally, they noted that the issue did not affect Polygon PoS, Polygon CDK, “or any chain that has deployed using Polygon CDK>”

However, there has not been a subsequent statement with more detailed information regarding the outage. Alternatively, Polygon expressed their excitement regarding the planned release of the zkEVM second gen in the coming weeks.
