March 29, 2026 - World Assets, a subsidiary of the World Foundation, recently completed the sale of approximately 239 million WLD tokens through over-the-counter (OTC) deals with four institutional buyers. The transactions raised $65 million at an average price of $0.2719 per token, occurring just as the asset hit a new all-time low. To minimize immediate market impact, $25 million worth of the sold tokens are subject to a six-month lockup. The foundation stated that the proceeds will be used to fund core operations, including Orb manufacturing, research and development, and ecosystem growth. This liquidation follows a period of extreme devaluation, with the token down 97% from its 2024 peak.
