Velo is a decentralized financial service platform that is powered by blockchain technology. It seeks to provide everyone with frictionless financial solutions at a low cost. Velo enables trustless and direct transfer of digital assets that are pegged 1:1 to fiat currencies. It also offers a range of other services including a trading platform and dedicated products for real estate investments.

What are Velo’s key features and how does it work?

Velo’s core product consists of a global payaments system allowing businesses and individuals to instantly transfer payments. It allows licensed financial institutions to partner with Velo and create digital assets that are pegged 1:1 to any local currency. Newly created assets are backed by VELO tokens deposited as collateral.

To facilitate this, Velo uses two processes: a Digital Credit Issuance Mechanism and a Digital Reserve System.

The Digital Credit Issuance Mechanism allows Velo partners, any business that has successfully completed the Velo vetting process, to receive digital credits by depositing VELO tokens as collateral on the platform. The Digital Reserve System consists of an algorithmic rule set that manages VELO token pools with a rebalancing mechanism. It is implemented via smart contracts.

Velo Virtual Asset is another of Velo’s key products. It is geared towards and aims to decentralize real estate development investments. It tokenizes real estate with the hope of providing access to the real estate market to users who have previously not had exposure.

The third of Velo’s products is the Velo FCX. Velo FCX operates as a digital asset trading platform. It is designed to suit the needs of institutional traders and retail investors. Some of its core features include one-click trading, liquidity pool aggregation with varied APY, and access to market and transaction history and analytics. It also offers hield-yield staking on Velo Digital Assets.
