USDT0 operates on a lock-and-mint mechanism: USDT is locked in a smart contract on the Ethereum Mainnet, and equivalent USDT0 tokens are minted on the target chain, ensuring a 1:1 backing. This approach eliminates the need for fragmented infrastructure, such as separate contracts, liquidity pools, and bridging solutions for each chain, leading to increased efficiency and scalability.
