What is uniBTC (uniBTC)?
uniBTC is a liquid restaking token within the Bedrock protocol that represents staked Wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC) on the Ethereum blockchain. By staking wBTC through Bedrock, users receive uniBTC at a 1:1 ratio, allowing them to earn staking rewards without relinquishing their wBTC holdings. These rewards may include future accruals from Babylon's staking protocol and Bedrock Diamonds.
The Bedrock protocol enables wBTC holders to participate in restaking, offering additional yield opportunities while maintaining the security of the Ethereum network. Staking wBTC for uniBTC involves connecting a compatible wallet to the Bedrock platform, approving the necessary transaction, and receiving uniBTC tokens, which can be traded or used within the DeFi ecosystem.
Unstaking uniBTC requires an 8-day processing period, after which the original wBTC can be reclaimed. Additionally, Bedrock offers cross-chain functionalities, enabling users to bridge uniBTC across supported networks.
