Premia is a decentralized options protocol that has a unique pool-to-peer architecture. It aims to provide an improved service compared to other options protocols. To do so, it deploys a number of key features: pricing based on real-time supply and demand, optimal liquidity pool utilization, risk management services, and instant withdrawals for liquidity providers.

What are Premia’s key features and how does it work?

Premia allows users to purchase options via its AMM. Traders can select details for options, including token pair, strike price, and maturity. After a trader completes this process, they will receive a quote for the amount of underlying asset for call options, and for the base asset for put options.

Options must be fully collateralized on Premia. Tokens are immediately locked in an option until the settlement. Options can be bought with any asset. If assets are not the default payment of the option they are buying it is automatically converted into the correct asset and payment is sent in one single transaction.

Premia options are ERC-1155. The token holder has the right to buy or sell the underlying token by a specified date. Options on Premia represent the same number of tokens, for example, a 55 ETH call option gives the right to buy 55 ETH within the option’s execution time.

Premia uses a unique pool pricing model. It is liquidity sensitive and has built-in market adjustment. The price is determined by comparing market supply and market demand with a risk-adjusted model, as such price converges to market price even when there is volatile behavior.

What is noteworthy about Premia?

The Premia protocol has community-governed management known as the Premian Assembly. Voting is conducted via snapshots votes. Proposals can be submitted by the community as well as by core members of the Premia protocol. There are a variety of votes that can occur: Signal Votes and Core Votes. Signal votes take the shape of core member proposals with the purpose of determining community interest. On the other hand, Core Votes are submitted by core members of the ecosystem, or successful Signal Votes that gathered enough support.
