What is Portal?

Portal is a bridge application built on the Wormhole network, allowing the transfer of tokens between blockchains. It locks tokens in a smart contract on the origin chain and mints Portal-wrapped tokens on the target chain, which can be exchanged for other tokens. The platform supports ERC721 and SPL NFTs for cross-chain transfers and charges minimal bridging fees, with gas fees being the significant cost.
