What is Paxos?

Paxos provides regulated blockchain infrastructure. The company operates as a trust company under regulatory oversight. It received the first limited purpose trust charter for digital assets from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) in 2015. In 2022, Paxos became the first US-based blockchain infrastructure platform to secure a Major Payments Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. In 2025, Paxos Trust Company, N.A. became a trust overseen at the national level by the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), with oversight of issuance, custody, and other activities.
