It is:<ul><li>Over-collateralized</li><li>Capital efficient</li><li>Fully decentralized</li><li>Automated.</li></ul>NOTE cannot be created – it must be borrowed from the Accountant, a smart contract that implements the algorithmic interest rate policy, via the Canto Lending Market (CLM). All interest charged by the Accountant is earmarked for funding public goods. It is held in the Community Treasury and ultimately governed by the Canto DAO.NOTE is a fully immutable ERC-20 token backed by collateral lent to the CLM. It can can only be borrowed by users who post select collateral assets. At this time, eligible collateral assets are $USDC and $USDT. As a result, for every $NOTE in circulation, there is more than 1 USD worth of collateral held by the CLM. Since NOTE cannot be created, only borrowed, the Accountant contract utilizes interest rates to manage the circulating supply of NOTE, and by proxy, its price. The interest rate on $NOTE automatically adjusts up or down every 6 hours based on a TWAP of the market price of NOTE.

What Is Fear & Greed Index?

We are assessing Bitcoin's volatility and maximum drawdowns, comparing these metrics with the average values from the past 30 and 90 days. We suggest that an abnormal increase in volatility signals a market driven by fear.

We evaluate current trading volumes and market momentum against 30/90 day averages, then combine these indicators. Typically, high daily buying volumes in a positive market lead us to conclude that the market is excessively greedy or overly bullish.

We collect and tally posts with various hashtags for each coin from Twitter (X) and monitor the speed and volume of interactions within certain time frames. A surge in interaction rates signifies heightened public interest in the coin, which we view as indicative of a greedy market.

A coin’s dominance represents its share of the total crypto market capitalization. For Bitcoin, an increase in dominance often stems from a flight to safety, reducing speculative investments in alt-coins as Bitcoin becomes the preferred safe haven in the crypto space.
