Merit Circle functions as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that hopes to be able to influence the direction of blockchain gaming. It aims to help build the metaverse by investing in play-to-earn games and encouraging the use of its products across the globe.
The platform’s native cryptocurrency is the MC token. It has a total supply of 1,000,000,000.
The Merit Circle DAO has a unique infrastructure designed to stimulate growth. It consists of several layers and elements. At the top of the structure is the MainDAO. The MainDAO’s objective is to facilitate governance of the entire ecosystem, generate yield farming income, provide soft floor MC token price, and ensure support and development of subDAOs.
SubDAOs are found in the second layer of the Merit Circle platform. Each subDAO represents Merit Circle’s activities in specific play-to-earn games. For example, a subDAO for Axie Infinity exists. A subDAO is designed to ensure the scaling of the game it represents, develop NFTs for the game, and maximize earning strategies. Profits from each subDAO are reinvested into the entire ecosystem and can be put towards operations in a different subDAO, or overall platform maintenance.
Vaults are the next layer crucial to Merit Circle’s operation. Vaults are linked to subDAOs and represent strategies that each subDAO can use in order to generate the most profits. Vaults are specific to each subDAO. This is because each game will have different earning mechanics and therefore require a different set of strategies in order to maximize returns.
Since NFTs are often used in blockchain gaming, Merit Circle has developed its own marketplace where players can trade, buy, and sell NFTs for use within games.
As part of Merit Circle’s products and services, the platform also incubates games via its very own gaming Studio. It helps non-Web3.0 games to transition into the space, as well as, allows Merit Circle’s own creations to be developed and receive support. Edenhorde is an example of a game incubated from within the Merit Circle DAO.
The MC token has several use cases within the Merit Circle ecosystem. First and foremost, the MC token plays a vital role in platform governance. Holding even one MC token means that the owner can take part in the DAO. Anyone can submit proposals in the Merit Circle forum to be further discussed. Token holders are then entitled to vote on proposals, to either accept or reject them. An example vote could be on deciding how MC treasury funds will be used. Votes take place on Merit Circle’s dedicated Snapshot voting platform.
MC can also be staked via the staking portal. This allows holders to earn extra rewards on their MC tokens.
MC is available for trading on the following CEXs and DEXs listed here. The most popular platforms with the highest liquidity are Binance, Gate.io, Huobi Global, and Pancake Swap. The price of MC will vary depending on the choice of exchange and overall market conditions. For up-to-date and historic data for MC market prices, please view the price charts on this page.
