LeadBTC is a wrapped Bitcoin representation from LeadFi that enables BTC to be used in DeFi on other blockchains. This is technically possible by storing the original Bitcoin in multi-signature wallets and issuing an equivalent number of leadBTC tokens on networks such as Ethereum and BNB Chain.

The project gives BTC holders access to earning opportunities across various DeFi protocols, including liquidity provision, while the underlying value of the asset is secured by Bitcoin reserves. Cross-chain transfers between networks for the token are implemented using LayerZero technology.
