The Klayr blockchain can be described as a blockchain ecosystem where many different blockchains are connected through a central blockchain called the Klayr Mainchain. All other connected blockchains in this context are called sidechains.

The WebAssembly module allows you to deploy smart contracts on the underlying blockchain in a variety of languages beyond the original Javascript. With the addition of other modules, developers will be able to create tokens and digital assets such as NFTs, and deploy new applications driven by smart contracts. Also based on Lisk Layer 1 technology, a number of improvements are being made to the blockchain, including an update to the Proof-of-Stake consensus.
