What is Kamigotchi?

Kamigotchi is a fully on-chain RPG developed by Asphodel Studio, where players explore a virtual world alongside their pets, called Kamigotchi. The game combines elements of role-playing, strategy, and resource management, allowing players to farm tokens while navigating various rooms and completing quests.

Key Features:

• Gameplay Mechanics: Players manage their Kamigotchi pets by exploring a map consisting of different rooms, each requiring stamina to enter. Each room has unique characteristics, such as vending machines for minting Kamigotchi or nodes for harvesting the in-game currency, $MUSU The game emphasizes pet development, where players can level up their Kamigotchi and improve their stats.

• Kamigotchi Types and Stats: There are four types of Kamigotchi—Normal, Insect, Eerie, and Scrap.

• Tokens and Economy: The game features two main tokens:

  • $KAMI: This is the primary governance token used for in-game purchases and minting new Kamigotchi.

  • $MUSU: Earned through gameplay activities like harvesting at nodes. The relationship between these tokens is still being clarified as the game develops

• Development and Launch: Initially launched on testnet on July 7, 2024, Kamigotchi is built on the MUD v2 framework and operates on the Optimism blockchain. The game aims to create an autonomous world where players can interact with each other and their pets in a decentralized environment.

• Community Engagement: While Kamigotchi does not have its own dedicated Discord server, it is part of the Asphodel Studio community. Players can connect through various platforms like Farcaster to engage with others in real-time.
