inSure operates as a cryptocurrency-based insurance system. It hopes to be able to provide crypto investors with protection from scammers and devaluations. To do so, inSure provides products and services designed to redistribute risk across the community. It does so by offering traders a range of insurance plans to cover crypto-related risks and unexpected losses. What are inSure DeFi’s key features and how does it work?

In order to be covered by inSure insurance, users must simply purchase SURE tokens, and navigate to the inSure Dashboard to enable coverage by contributing SURE tokens to the community vault. Insurance begins 7 days after contributing tokens.

Premiums are determined by a Dynamic Pricing Model which offers a range of insurance plans. Risks are calculated according to the volatility of the market. Any changes to insurance plans are introduced by members themselves and must be approved by the community. In order to receive insurance, users must buy a certain amount of SURE. The most basic plan requires 2,500 SURE tokens and provides coverage up to 50% for stolen funds, 70% for devaluations, and 80% coverage against scammers. The coverage lasts one-third of a year. 

The more tokens bought, the higher the value the insurance covers and the better the coverage against various types of claims. 100% coverage for all insurance claims requires 500,000 SURE tokens and coverage lasts for 2 years.

The platform has its own DAO, the inSureDAO, that uses a voting mechanism to ensure that claims are handled both transparently and in a permissionless manner.
