Alien Worlds is an NFT defi metaverse running on the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and WAX blockchains. The in-game currency — Trilium (token symbol TLM) — incentivises explorers to play games and must be staked to participate in governance. Planets within the metaverse are decentralised autonomous organisations which receive daily Trilium from the central metaverse smart contracts. Explorers engage through mining by acquiring and renting land, and voting for Planetary governance to impact Trilium payouts. The metaverse is extensible because Planets are independent and can offer their own games UIs and NFTs. Indeed, users are already doing this.

Alien Worlds is a simulated economy where players compete for the scarce resource, Trilium (TLM), which they use to enhance their power in the game by staking and voting in Planet Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (Planet DAOs). Both planets and players compete for TLM, leading to intense competition and collaboration between groups.Current functionality within the Alien Worlds metaverse include:

• Mining: Using suitable NFTs, players can mine TLM from different planets.

• Staking: Players stake TLM to earn staking rewards in TLM and NFTs and stake Trilium to Planets to increase the Planet’s reward pool.

• Planet DAO governance: Participate in weekly elections for council candidates.

• Trade NFTs: Players may trade NFTs on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and WAX, to be used for mining and in-game missions.

• Cross-chain bridge: Porting TLM between BSC, WAX, and Ethereum.
