ALEX Lab builds DeFi primitives targeting developers looking to build ecosystem on Bitcoin, enabled by Stacks. As such, ALEX Lab focuses on trading, lending and borrowing of crypto assets with Bitcoin as the settlement layer and Stacks as the smart contract layer. At the core of this focus is the automated market making ("AMM") protocol, which allows users to exchange one crypto asset with another trustlessly.ALEX Bridge will initially support the exchange of USDC (ERC20) and xUSD (Stacks), with a plan to add support for xALEX/ALEX, WBTC/xBTC, ETH/xETH and others.

The strategic round was backed by Trust Machines, Gossamer Capital and other investors. Alex raised a $5.8 million seed round in 2021, which was led by White Star Capital. Other backers included Cultur3 and SeaX.
