N1 (Prev. Layer N) is a Layer 1 blockchain designed to support applications with horizontal scalability. It avoids consensus in most cases, allowing network performance to increase with the number of validators. Instead of globally ordering all transactions, N1 processes them asynchronously and unordered by default, introducing consensus only when bridging between applications. The network has built-in data availability and does not impose constraints on execution environments, enabling developers to optimize performance as needed.N1 incorporates sharded data availability, ensuring that each application operates independently except when interacting with others. The system scales as the number of validators grows.The blockchain includes a native Solana bridge for transactions and asset transfers, enhancing liquidity and security.N1 does not enforce a specific execution environment, supporting any computation that can be verified, including SNARKs and consensus proofs.State congestion is minimized, as each application runs in isolation. The only performance limitation is data availability, preventing issues such as gas optimization and state bloat.
