Galactica is a Tier 1 blockchain that integrates zero-knowledge cryptography to create a privacy-centric and sybil-resistant ecosystem. By embedding KYC contracts directly at the protocol level, Galactica ensures that accounts and smart contracts can only interact with verified users, ensuring both compliance and privacy. Such a system enables the creation of persistent identities on the blockchain and what the platform calls the “Cypher State” - a decentralized society in which complex social, political and economic systems are fully represented and managed on the blockchain. It is built on the CosmosSDK, CometBFT proof of stake consensus and smart contracts using the Ehereum virtual machine (EVM). A key feature of Galactica is the use of zkCertificates - non-transferable NFTs containing private data that can be selectively disclosed with zero-knowledge proofs. These certificates can be used for anything from identity verification to medical data to artificial intelligence algorithms.
