XRPFi Push Continues as Flare Network Rolls Out Smart Accounts v1.3

Share:
On July 28 Flare launched Smart Accounts v1.3 allowing users to move XRP into curated vaults with a single XRPL wallet signature, removing the need for an EVM wallet, gas token or manual bridging and enabling non-custodial minting, deposits and yield generation. The upgrade improves DeFi UX and adoption prospects for XRP but has not boosted token performance: FLR continues to weaken and both XRP and FLR remain dominated by broader crypto market sentiment rather than ecosystem updates, limiting near-term price impact.
The Flare Network ecosystem keeps expanding around XRP, even as price action refuses to reward the effort. While XRP continues trading largely on broader crypto market sentiment, Flare Network is doubling down on its vision of bringing decentralized finance to Ripple’s flagship asset through a smoother on-chain experience. The latest update shows the development pace hasn’t slowed. Investor enthusiasm, however, is another story.
Smart Accounts Remove Common Friction
On July 28, Flare announced that Smart Accounts v1.3 is now live. The update allows users to move XRP into curated vaults using a single signature from an existing XRPL wallet.
According to Flare, the process eliminates the need for a separate EVM wallet, gas token, or manual bridging. Instead, Flare Smart Accounts automatically handle minting, deposits, and yield generation while remaining non-custodial.
The company describes the experience simply: one signature, one wallet, and XRPFi made more accessible.
Development Keeps Moving Despite Weak Prices

That technical progress hasn’t translated into stronger token performance. The FLR token continues to weaken, reflecting broader market pressure rather than a lack of ecosystem updates.
At the same time, XRP remains heavily influenced by overall crypto sentiment, particularly moves driven by the broader market, limiting the impact of product launches tied directly to the asset.
As a result, ecosystem innovation and token price have been moving in different directions.
Ecosystem Growth Faces Market Reality
Flare’s business model continues promoting the idea of putting XRP to work in DeFi through secure, non-custodial, on-chain infrastructure.
Yet the latest Smart Accounts upgrade highlights an ongoing challenge across crypto: strong infrastructure doesn’t automatically create immediate demand for related tokens.

For now, Flare Network continues building tools around XRP, while both XRP and FLR remain largely at the mercy of broader market sentiment rather than ecosystem announcements alone.
