Elon Musk rejected speculation the U.S. government might somehow adopt Dogecoin cryptocurrency through his efforts. Musk addressed the issue during a town hall meeting reported in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Appearing at an America PAC event Sunday, Musk stated he was unaware of any government plans to use Dogecoin or any other cryptocurrency as part of his work.

His clarification addresses confusion surrounding the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative Musk leads for the Trump administration. The department’s acronym coincidentally mirrors the Dogecoin cryptocurrency Musk has sometimes publicly mentioned online. 

This similarity fueled speculation about a possible crypto connection. Musk acknowledged the name coincidence but firmly confirmed the DOGE initiative has no link whatsoever to any crypto asset.
