Injective price outlook: INJ on the edge ahead of new community buyback

The cryptocurrency market remained weak on Wednesday, as Bitcoin continued to struggle around $90,000.

Altcoins display mixed performances after the latest crash violated key price levels.

This article evaluates Injective’s price outlook as the interoperable layer 1 network braces for tomorrow’s community buyback.

Notably, the upcoming buyback round builds on the momentum from the initial event that started on October 23 and ended with the October 29 burn.

With another phase of INJ buybacks and burns imminent, traders and enthusiasts are watching price charts closely.

Another buyback finds INJ at a breaking point

According to the official announcement, the strategic buyback initiative aims to boost Injective’s deflationary model by directing holders to commit INJ every month and receive a share of the protocol’s revenue in return.

The project burns all committed tokens permanently, a strategic approach to trim Injective’s supply over time.

The team said:

When the event concludes, all INJ commitments are exchanged for the revenue collected that month. This revenue, made up of multiple different tokens, is distributed pro rata to all participants.

Meanwhile, the October buyback round was the inaugural event that replaced the inheritance burn auction with a community-driven and more open mechanism.

Now, the second round, which opens tomorrow, serves as the first true cycle for Injective’s monthly buybacks.

How does the Injective community buyback work?

The L1 reserves limited slots for participants on the Injective Hub, using the first-come, first-served approach.

Eligible holders can commit their INJ assets for a month.

After the buyback round, Injective burns all committed tokens and shares a portion of the revenue generated during that month, including assets like USDT and INJ.

The best thing is that the initiative guarantees transparency, with all commitments, burns, and revenue distribution publicly visible.

Meanwhile, the upcoming deflationary event comes as the INJ price trades at a crucial technical region, adding uncertainty, pressure, and opportunity at a go.

INJ price outlook

The altcoin trades at $6.42 with a mere 0.64% increase in the last 24 hours.

Chart by Coinmarketcap

Injective dropped over 17% of its value in the past week amid overwhelming broader selling momentum.

While the 15% slump in 24-hour trading volume confirms weakness, tomorrow’s buyback event could influence INJ’s price action in the near term.

The digital token is trading above the crucial support barrier of $5 – $6, which has held during extended drawdowns.

A lucrative turnout tomorrow, with commitments exceeding expectations, might fuel recoveries for Injective.

If people commit a substantial amount of tokens, the subsequent burn could offer a structural and psychological catalyst for a rebound.

Bulls will target $10 – $12, with a move above $14 shifting short-term trends.

INJ can push toward $20 on an improved broader market outlook.

On the other hand, minimal participation in tomorrow’s buyback could signal dwindling trust in Injective’s growth plans and incentives.

That can see INJ plummeting to the support at $5, with a possible capitulation to sub-$3.
