Mexican Billionaire Reveals His Portfolio Including Bitcoin

In an exclusive podcast interview with Natalie Brunell, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, the renowned Mexican billionaire and founder of Grupo Salinas, opened up about his investment portfolio and shared intriguing insights into his journey with Bitcoin.

Pliego, a prominent figure in the business world, shared valuable insights into his investment portfolio during the podcast. In his liquid portfolio, Salinas Pliego has strategically allocated his resources across various sectors. These include Bitcoin, Microstrategy, several mining companies, oil enterprises, and investments in gold mining.

Pliego’s shares his Bitcoin investment journey 

One of the most interesting aspects of the Mexican billionaire’s investment journey and his portfolio is his early involvement with Bitcoin. Pliego recalls his initial attraction to Bitcoin, which was still in its nascent stages. At that time, Bitcoin was valued at a modest $200.

Within a short span of just 15 days, the value of BTC nearly doubled. However, he made the decision to sell his holdings when BTC reached $800, a move that would later prove to be a shrewd one.

Salinas Pliego’s journey with Bitcoin didn’t end after he sold it for $800. He re-entered the market and patiently held onto his BTC investments.

He held onto his bag of BTC until it reached its pinnacle in 2017 when he sold his BTC holdings for around $17,000. This trade stands out as one of the most lucrative and well-timed transactions of his career. It also shows the trust vested in Bitcoin by industry veterans and billionaires.
