Strategy Holds 840K BTC After $334M Share Sale

Strategy sold 3.46 million shares for about $333.7 million between August 10 and 16, allocating $149.1 million to its USD reserve (raising it by roughly $150 million to ~$4.8 billion), paying $52.4 million in STRC dividends and repurchasing $132.2 million of STRC under its repurchase program. The company made no Bitcoin trades so its holdings remained steady at 840,447 BTC, a move that preserves crypto exposure while strengthening liquidity and balance-sheet flexibility, relevant to fundraising, preferred-share management and broader Bitcoin adoption.
Strategy maintained its Bitcoin position last week while selling millions of MSTR shares to strengthen its financial flexibility. The company sold 3.46 million shares for roughly $333.7 million between August 10 and August 16. However, it made no Bitcoin purchases or sales during the period. Consequently, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings remained unchanged at 840,447 BTC.
Cash Reserve Expands
Strategy allocated $149.1 million from the stock sales to its USD reserve. Hence, its reserve increased by $150 million to approximately $4.8 billion. Additionally, the company used $52.4 million to cover dividends on its STRC preferred shares.
Moreover, Strategy directed $132.2 million toward repurchasing STRC securities under its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program. The move strengthens its preferred-stock position while preserving substantial cash resources.
